Privacy notice for Miriam
Effective 7 September 2026 · Version: TestFlight beta
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing in connection with Miriam is:
Victoria Kreuter
Hinterm Schmiedeteich 5
02625 Bautzen
Germany
Telephone: +49 37325 26006
Email: kontakt@mentecura.de
2. Scope and guiding principle
This notice applies to the free Miriam TestFlight beta and direct support communications. Miriam is designed so that personal reflections remain largely on the user’s device.
The beta uses no user account, advertising, analytics or tracking SDK, proprietary backend, cloud synchronisation, payment service, remote push notifications, or live requests to a Bible service.
3. Data processed locally
Miriam stores information locally in the app, including the optional first name, faith focus, content type, language, Bible translation, reminder times, saved cards, journal entries, usage days, streak, and local beta and paywall status. The app code does not send this information to Victoria Kreuter.
Journal entries and settings may reveal religious beliefs or aspects of personal wellbeing. Please protect access to your device.
4. Local reminders
If you agree, Miriam asks the operating system to schedule up to three recurring local reminders at your chosen times. You can withdraw permission at any time in the device settings. This beta does not use remote push notifications.
5. TestFlight data and voluntary feedback
When you install and use the beta through TestFlight, Apple automatically collects crash logs and usage information and may share some of it with the developer. This may include the invitation name and email address, device and operating-system details, language, sessions, installations, crashes and crash logs.
Feedback and screenshots are voluntary. We use them only to operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve Miriam on the basis of our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR and EU GDPR as applicable. Please do not include journal entries, health information, prayer requests or other sensitive information in TestFlight feedback.
Apple also processes TestFlight data under its own responsibility. More information: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/test-flight/
6. Support communications
If you contact us by email or telephone, we process your contact details, the content of your message and subsequent correspondence to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) or 6(1)(f) GDPR, depending on the enquiry.
7. Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you delete individual entries, use “Delete all local data” in Profile, or remove the app. An older copy may remain in a device backup depending on your Apple or Google settings.
We delete support correspondence and beta feedback no later than twelve months after the request is closed or the beta ends, unless it is still required for troubleshooting, legal claims or statutory retention duties.
8. Recipients and international transfers
We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. Possible recipients are limited to Apple for TestFlight and App Store distribution, email or telecommunications providers when you contact us, and professional advisers where legally necessary. Service providers may process information outside the European Economic Area under their terms and applicable legal safeguards.
9. Security
Miriam uses the operating system’s app sandbox and local storage. Miriam does not apply additional end-to-end encryption to journal entries. Please enable a device lock.
10. Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, or object to processing. You can view and delete Miriam’s local data directly in the app; we cannot access or restore it. For support or TestFlight data available to us, contact kontakt@mentecura.de.
11. Right to complain
You may complain to a data protection authority. For the controller established in Saxony, the competent authority is the Sächsische Datenschutz- und Transparenzbeauftragte, Postfach 11 01 32, 01330 Dresden, Germany. Telephone: +49 351 85471-101. https://www.datenschutz.sachsen.de/kontakt.html
12. Age for this beta
The TestFlight beta is intended solely for adults aged 18 or over and is not directed to children or young people.
13. Changes
We will update this notice before introducing subscriptions, analytics, accounts, cloud synchronisation, remote notifications or other services that receive personal data. The current effective date will be shown on this page.
